Dr. Malik is a licensed naturopathic physician with practices in Lakeville, Connecticut and Manchester, Vermont. He sees patients five days a week and also provides consultation services for people that live from coast to coast in North America. Dr. Malik sees patients of all ages with diverse health conditions and health concerns. He helps his patients better understand their body and address the underlying causes of their ailments.
Dr. Malik regularly provides lectures/discussions on common health concerns and natural and alternative medicines. In November, 2010 he presented to the New Hampshire Association of Naturopathic Doctors on the diagnosis and treatment of auto-immune disease in the primary care naturopathic practice. He authors columns for the Lakeville Journal, Millerton News, and Winsted Journal, produces podcasts, and participates in several blogs.
Dr. Malik obtained his doctorate degree from the four year accredited naturopathic program at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington. Bastyr University is a leading institution for training natural and alternative healthcare professionals. For over three years, while seeing patients at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health, he applied concepts of western and natural medicine to help patients heal and improve their quality of life. During his training, Dr. Malik focused on environmental medicine, pediatrics, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD/ADHD), and women’s care.
Dr. Malik is a member of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, and the Connecticut Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
He is passionate about health: his own, his patients’, and the people he loves. Dr. Malik tries to be an example of healthy living. He exercises several times a week. His favorite forms of exercise are walking, bicycling, trail running, hiking, and playing basketball with his children. He consumes a whole foods diet that emphasizes vegetables, legumes, fruits, whole grains, poultry, and healthy fish. Dr. Malik believes that dietary supplementation can be an important part of achieving or maintaining optimal health, but that diet, exercise and doing the things we love come first.
Dr. Malik strongly believes that health is not only a physical state, but also a mental and spiritual state. He works to maintain open communication with the people in his life and to cultivate his spirituality. Truthfully offering all of his knowledge and wisdom with an open heart and an open mind are his spiritual and professional goals.
Dr. Malik lives in the beautiful Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts with his wife and three children. He loves the country, but also enjoys the proximity to the excitement and diversity of New York City and Boston.
